Wayne Draper, a house and electronica DJ out of Houston, Texas, chose his name based on the mysteriousness of Bruce Wayne and the sophistication of Don Draper. When not DJing, he works in the environmental sector. I was tasked with giving his name a mark that would begin to allow his brand to grow.
For his brand, he wanted to convey both aspects of his name, pay homage to the environment, and incorporate Dr. Manhattan-esque imagery. We landed on a mark that mimics the curvature of a mountain, the shape of a soundwave, and incorporates meaningful glyphs.
Brand in the Wild
The most common use for this mark will be as a transparency layer on nature backdrops for album covers featuring Wayne Draper's mixes.
